Beer Review: Southern Tier Farmer’s Tan Imperial Pale Lager

In Imperial Pale Lager, Reviews on November 27, 2010 at 12:59 pm

Lagers, not the most prized style of the beer geek.  Imperial Lager?  Well it might raise an eyebrow.  Here’s my review:

Pours a clear golden blonde with a stark white puffy head.

Bright and husky aroma with some citrus hop notes and booze.

Sweet pale malt with some orange, strawberry, bready, citrus hop notes and a wheat twang most likely from the wheat grain addition.

A tad creamy, light on the palate but the high alcohol content might slow down your sips.

It’s pretty drinkable, not too many strong flavors but has a nice balance.  The alcohol is a little much and isn’t masked very well.  After a hot day, this might sound good, but the booze will have you dozing off pretty quick.

Style: Imperial Pilsner

ABV: 9%
