The Best of 2010

2009 is so last year.  I boycotted doing a best of 2009 list but now I’m posting the line up for this years beers to be reviewed.  Went to Nikki’s Liquors in Providence to stock up.  I was so excited with the selection of mostly American craft beers unavailable in New Orleans, but courtesy of Deegan Distribution, there will be a small supply landing in Louisiana soon!

Here’s what to look forward to kick off the next decade of beer at PourThought:

Stoudt’s Double IPA

Left Hand Milk Stout

Smuttynose- Shoal Pale Ale, IPA

Harpoon Leviathan- Saison Royale, Baltic Porter

Ommegang- Hennepin, Three Philosophers 2008

Dogfish Head- Burton Baton, World Wide Stout

Victory- Yakima Twilight, Hop Devil, Hop Wallop

Weyerbacher: Double Simcoe IPA

750ml Bottles:

Stone Vertical Epic 09

New England Brewing Co. Imperial Stout Trooper

Dogfish Head Sahtea

North Coast Old Rasputin XII

Shipyard XXXX IPA

Newport Storm ‘08

Great Divide Yeti

Cans: (Yes, craft beer comes in cans.  If not for the prevailing negative connotation of cans, there would be more craft beer in them.  It is a vessel perhaps better than a bottle as it is cheaper, easier to recycle, it allows for zero light contamination and the modern cans have liners that do not impart an aluminum taste to your beer, as long as you pour it in a glass like a gentleman)

Oskar Blues Grill and Brewery- Dale’s Pale Ale, Tin Fidy, Old Chub

Make a resolution to drink better beer!

  1. Wow, an impressiv lineup. That is about as well as you can do in one trip to the beer store.
